Workshop Series “The Hacked Barbie” #1

Workshop Series “The Hacked Barbie” so far had 6 editions and 63 participants. It is a dissemination activity of Excel - The Pursuit of Excellence.

The workshop invites participants to reproduce themselves on a Barbie, a symbol of gendered perfection (or an another doll perceived as comfortable for the gender identification), in order to unfold meanings connected to body practices, choices, and cosmetic routines generally invisible.

The goal is to start a path of self-reflection to develop a more conscious and critical gaze on the social performance through the body.

The first workshop was held at the University of Milano-Bicocca, celebrating the World Anthropology Day 2021 (19/02/2021).
